Our organic Navelina oranges are sweet, juicy and grown in Calabria without the use of pesticides or chemical treatments.
Perfect for enjoying in segments after a meal, for making fresh juice or as a base for homemade jams, Navelinas are among the most popular oranges due to their versatility and balanced flavour.
The edible peel is untreated and ideal for grating into desserts or using in cocktails and natural aperitifs.
Characteristics of the Navelina Orange
The Navelina orange is part of the family of blonde Navel oranges. Its origin seems to date back to a spontaneous mutation of the bitter orange.
It is a fairly resilient plant and, depending on the rootstock used, it has a good ability to take root in different soils and climates. It is characterized by the presence of a kind of navel located exactly on the opposite side of the stem, similar to another miniature orange. It has a thick and easy-to-remove skin, few seeds, a delicious taste, and a sugar concentration that increases with ripening. It is distinguished by its high content of vitamins C, A, B1, and B2. It is harvested between October and January while it blooms between March and May.
