Ciaculli Bio Late Mandarins are a variety of Sicilian late mandarins prized for their sweet, aromatic flavour, thin, fragrant skin and late ripening between February and April. Grown with the utmost respect for nature, these mandarins are certified organic, pesticide-free and fertilised only with natural organic substances.
Thanks to their edible peel, rich in essential oils, they are perfect for making candied fruit, artisan jams and fragrant liqueurs such as the typical mandarinetto.

Characteristics of Late Ciaculli Mandarins

It is a fruit that has made its ripening period its strength. It is indeed late compared to other varieties; it is named after the Palermo district of Ciaculli, which was once part of the so-called Conca d'oro, the plain that surrounded the city.

The ripening period is from February to April. It has a thin, fragrant skin, which is strongly attached to the flesh, some seeds, and a sweet taste.

In addition to food consumption, essence is extracted from the green fruits, it is candied to take advantage of its intense aroma, and it is used for the production of excellent jams.

 

It contains large amounts of vitamin C, B1, B2, but also selenium and nobletin, a flavonoid, which can help protect small blood vessels, naturally reduce cholesterol, and mitigate insulin spikes.
