The global climate crisis is having a significant influence on agricultural production. The appearance of much warmer seasons leads some crops, typically tropical, to grow with an excellent yield even in our Mediterranean areas. Products such as Avocado, Mango, Papaya, Passion Fruit have been cultivated in Southern Italy for over thirty years now and are experiencing a productive and even commercial explosion; for others, such as Banana and Pineapple, we are at the beginning of pioneering attempts, not in the open field, which however clash with the need not only for heat but also for a lot of humidity.
Fortunately, organic culture in Italy has managed to establish itself first among producers and, little by little, has made inroads into consumers by convincing them to invest a little more in health, sustainability and ethics. This choice leads the farmer to have a higher production cost and, above all, determines a lower yield: all this is inevitably reflected in a higher retail cost.

The explosion of online sales, after the pandemic, has given many farmers the opportunity to free themselves from the pincer of wholesalers and large-scale retail trade, giving them the possibility of greater profit and also pushing them to take risks by planting innovative varieties.
It is important that the consumer learns to distinguish, among the many similar online offers, and carefully purchases only those in which the price is justified by the effort made, the costs and the lower production.
When a fruit is defined as organic it should include, in addition to controlled agronomic practices, also a total lack of post-production treatments that influence the biochemical and organoleptic characteristics.
In the case of Avocados, the world's largest producers are overseas (Mexico, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Peru) and grow using non-organic intensive methods. Transport in Europe is by sea and cannot help but envisage, at least, the use of cold to delay the ripening of the fruit
For those who buy Italian Tropical Fruits, the proximity between the place of production and consumption represents safety in itself; if the company is certified organic, produces directly and ships within 24 hours, safety is guaranteed.
In our reviews, also certified, many of our consumers are amazed at the taste and appearance of our Italian Organic Avocados. The avocado, when still unripe, fears the cold: in fact, it loses the ability to mature uniformly and makes it take on a moldy flavor due to damage to the noble fatty acids that characterize it. This is why we do not have cold rooms and we ship the fruit within 24 hours of harvesting, therefore still unripe: this allows for homogeneous ripening and an exceptional taste.
Buying an Italian Avocado, however, forces consumers to respect the normal rhythms of nature: with the careful choice of the varieties planted, we are able to sell a very fresh fruit from the end of October to the beginning of May. In the coming years we will plant some other varieties that can contribute to extending the production period so as to be able to ensure our customers always fresh fruit, sold directly by the producer, but always grown with attention to the nature that distinguishes us. distinguishes us.
